Live sea and beach conditions for 427 coastal towns, built on open public data.

Maritimum gathers sea, wind and weather forecasts from public institutions and presents them town by town, updated in real time. Swimmers, sailors, paddle surfers, kayakers and coastal walkers get a clear answer to one question: what is the sea like here, now?

The sea, right now.

Under the hood
Explained from the system’s own source code.
Collect
Scheduled workers pull weather and marine forecasts from Open-Meteo and AEMET, beach flags from AMB, Protecció Civil and Región de Murcia, AEMET warnings and EU bathing-water quality.
Pace
A scheduler inside Postgres runs one job every 30 seconds, so providers see steady traffic. Failures back off exponentially, and the last good data is served, marked stale.
Normalise
Everything is stored as language-neutral codes and numbers. The API adds labels in Catalan, Spanish, English, Galician and Basque on the way out.
Serve
One public /v1 API feeds the website, the iOS app, its widgets and partners. The panel below reads it live.

A native iOS app with widgets, built on the same API as the website.
Live, from open data
Forecasts come from public institutions and update as soon as new data is published.
Simple to read
Information that is usually scattered across sources, brought together into one clear page per town.
